Hey Neighbor!
It has been a little while since we have had a newsletter come out filling you in on what has been happening in the the neighborhood, and we are absolutely due for an update with the number of new subscribers we have.
If this is your first time here, Welcome!
Normally our posts will have a playlist inside them, so you can listen along to the what is playing on our radio this week. You can look for those at the top of each of our newsletters and posts. They will typically be written at the top of a post in this font.
If you are finding this post via the substack app, or a shared post consider subscribing to see our content more often in your inbox.
If this is your first time here, let’s meet your friendly neighborhood Hippie Witches.
I’m Ryan, the main voice and face of Hippie Witch Heart. Together with my partner Austin, we run this little homegrown apothecary. HWH started from a small act of kindness from one loving partner to another, when Austin gave me a little bundle of dried lavender from his garden. That lavender went into making soaps and sugar scrubs, the first official products from our shop. When my coworkers at the time asked about the dried flowers, instead of fresh flowers from a significant other, I explained, “it makes my little Hippie Witch Heart so happy”.
Thus Hippie Witch Heart was born.
Every thing we do goes back to that bundle of lavender.
Our colors are lavender and a royal purple, or message is about growth and community, bringing magic to the mundane. Our magic is passed down in our family with his grandmother teaching him to garden, and mine teaching me to cook and create.
We call our community the neighborhood, and you our neighbors.
Grab a drink, your current craft project, or whatever brings you joy and make yourself cozy.
Everyone needs a place they feel like home, and we hope our neighborhood brings that to you.
When subscribing to our Substack you will see several different sections.
Subscribing automatically adds you to our entire publication, but you can edit which sections you choose to get in your inbox under the “Manage subscriptions” option on your account.

February Updates
February was a very short and busy month for us, as I am sure it was for many other small business. Having less days in the month adds a level of stress that we know is coming but never seem ready for.
We were able to accomplish so much though, here’s a brief recap of all we finished in February!
Redid our website, and updated the store front - Click here to see it!
Launched the Witch, Stitch, & Brew Podcast and Instagram (The website will be live soon too!)
Posted a few more discussion design vlogs on our youtube channel
Designed and launched the March Tarot Masterclass (and we still have a few seats open if you want to learn tarot with us!)
Planned and started the March Maker Challenge
That’s quite a bit while still working full time to sustain the small business.
As always links have been included on everything if you choose to follow along with everything we do.
Bits, Bobs, & Recent content from Hippie Witch Heart
As always, we love having you all here. Your support for our business allows us to grow and do great things, especially as a small business that is queer and disabled owned in this economic climate.
Life has been really tough for the world, and we hope that this space continues to be a safe place for you to land and hang out.
Thank you for being here, and we will see you later this week for new content and more updates.
